It's been a while since I wrote this blog, but as far as I tested the concept in the developer environment and in Dynamics, the component worked for me. Something more than that I have not had time to test. Unfortunately I have not tested with a Canvas App, but I tested the concept in Dynamic365 Customer Contact card.
I'll see if I have time to test if Angular Elements works with the Canvas app or not. In theory, it should. How did you set up your solution with Angular Element?
Can you possibly recreate the scenario in a test app and post it on GitHub that I can possibly watch.
